Discovering Music for Toddlers Exploring Music and Piano Preparatory Exploring Music and Piano Levels 1, 2, and 3

Programs Exploring Music and Piano Level 1 This is a progressive program for children and parents to discover and explore musical aspects and concepts. The student receives the book "Exploring Music & Piano, Level 1" and begins playing these songs on the piano. The curriculum works with traditional and composed songs, rhythm, motor coordination, steady beats, singing, ear training, movements and folk dances to develop motor skills and educational concepts of music. Also, more complex percussion and melodic instruments are played in ever class. The piano playing becomes sensorial in this stage, developing the instrumental language, perception and dexterity with additional emphasis on expressive technique. Students must practice daily in accordance with the program requirements. Parents are strongly recommended to take an active role, review the materials covered in class and get involved in the child's musical life. Digital pianos are provided for participants' use, and a piano or a keyboard at home is required. Exploring Music Level 1 is divided into two sections: A and B. This class is 55 minutes long and held weekly. Fall, Winter and Spring sessions last for 10 weeks, and Summer sessions last for 5 weeks. There are as many as 12 children per class.
Exploring Music and Piano Level 2 In this phase, the students continue developing the musical language, perception and dexterity as in Level 1. In Level 2, students receive two books: "Hear it ... and Play!" This is a sensorial piano laying and ear training development. The curriculum works with traditional and composed songs. The second book is "Read it ... and Play!" This books helps students to begin reading musical symbols. The student applies the aspects of music learned in the reading learning process to their piano playing. Classes are formal and parents should attend to participate in the child's active musical learning. This active role involves encouraging their child's coordination with musical rhythm, motor coordination, steady beat, movements, singing, ear training, reading, folk dances, conducting and singing simple melodies and piano practice. Students must practice daily in accordance with the program requirements. Parents are strongly recommended to take take an active role, review the materials covered in class and get involved in the child's musical life. This class is 75 minutes long: 35 minutes for Exploring Music and 40 minutes for Exploring Piano. These classes are held weekly and students can choose to have private or semi-private piano lessons. Fall/Winter and Winter/Spring sessions last for 15 weeks. Summer sessions last for 4 or 5 weeks and only offer Exploring Piano.
Exploring Music and Piano Level 3+ In this phase, students have two classes a week: Exploring Music (solfege or music theory) for 55 minutes and Private Piano Lessons for 45 minutes. The curriculum continues to develop the musical language, perception and dexterity. The student receives two Level 3 books: "Read it ... and Play!" and "Hear it ... and Play!" Students must practice daily in accordance with the program requirements. Parents are strongly recommended to take take an active role, review the materials covered in class and get involved in the child's musical life. Fall/Winter and Winter/Spring sessions last for 15 weeks. Summer sessions last for 4 or 5 weeks and only offer Exploring Piano. |
