Geiza Dourado

Geiza Dourado is a pianist, singer, composer, and music educator. She is an authority in developmental music education specializing in early childhood, who has more than 30 years of experience and research around the world and in cognitive development for young children. She has collected in the field of music education a rich material collected from her hard work and experience from all the countries visited. She has been invited as a clinician for workshops in the Modern Approach of Music Education and Piano Pedagogy for beginners in South America, Europe and United States.

Geiza has a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance from Escola de Musica do Espirito Santo, Brazil, 1976; a Diplôme de Pedagogie d’Iniciation Musicale from Conservatoire de Musique de Genève, Switzerland, 1984; a Master of Arts in Piano Performance, Music History and Literature, Andrews University, Michigan, USA, 1987.

During her studies at the Conservatoire in Geneva, Switzerland, Geiza attended the Dalcroze Eurhythmics Institute at Dalcroze, Geneva, and the Association Internationale D’Education Musicale Willems, Lyon, France.

Geiza is the author of numerous articles and books in early childhood music education, song books, Music for Life for Young Children program: Discovering Music for Infants and Toddlers, and a curriculum for piano beginners: Exploring Music & Piano-Preparatory for children of 3 and 4 years, Exploring Music & piano L1, 2 and 3.
